Congress of the International Society of Ocular Oncology
Leiden, The Netherlands
Friday, June 17 - Tuesday, June 21, 2022

WELCOME
We are planning the 20th congress of the International Society of Ocular Oncology, a modern-style congress, in Leiden, The Netherlands, from June 17 to 21, 2022. We are planning for having a physical meeting in Leiden, which can also be attended on line. We will present the newest diagnostic tests and the best treatments for all types of ocular malignancies: tumors inside the eye, on the ocular surface, the eyelids, or the orbit. The newest developments will be discussed, and intriguing cases presented. The best social activities will help to introduce you, our guest, to the beauty of Leiden.
The canals of Leiden will be filled with boats with enthusiastic people enjoying a drink, while runners enjoy the new Singelpark, which encircles the city center as a green oasis. Leiden has a medieval city center, where Rembrandt grew up, and many sites remain from that time: his primary school and the drawbridge (which Rembrandt must have crossed when he visited his father's windmill) can still be visited. For those with an interest in antiquities, biology, or medical history, we have fantastic musea, so consider bringing your family. If you want to play the traditional tourist, Amsterdam is nearby.
For those who know Leiden: the city will be extra special in 2022, as Leiden will celebrate being elected European City of Science. On our first congress day, we will join that motto with a day about science, with as title: “Who knows?”
On behalf of Vice-Presidents Annette Moll and Emine Kiliç, Program Secretary Vicktoria Vishnevska-Dai, and the local organizing committee, I look forward to welcoming you in Leiden in person or online!

What's happening at the congress?

Goals:
To update one's knowledge about the best ways to diagnose and treat ocular tumors (retinoblastoma, uveal melanoma and its metastases, other intraocular tumors including lymphoma, ocular surface, eyelid and orbital malignancies), to meet other specialists and build collaborations and friendships

The field of ocular oncology is shifting and one must keep learning to optimally diagnose and treat one's patients.
